The new Lumière cinema has been nominated for the NRP Gulden Feniks award, a prize promoting and inspiring sustainable use of the existing environment. The cinema has been listed in the "Transformation" category.
According to the judge's report, the film house made use of the existing properties of the old building during the course of the renovation. Thanks to this intelligent and sustainable approach to construction the building's important cultural heritage has remained in tact. Lumière is of course incredibly pleased with the nomination, and the winner will be announced on Wednesday 5 July 2017.
