The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate carried out inspections on 41 taxi drivers in Maastricht this weekend. Sixteen of those inspected received a fine, which is just 10% shy of half of the drivers not adhering to industry standards.

The fines were handed out for breaches such as less than standard taxi meters, not taking long enough breaks, and not having their drivers nor taxi licences with them.
