Maastricht University has stated that they will welcome twice as many Irish students this summer compared to previous years.
UM has noted that there are 200 new enrolments from Ireland, compared to 89 in the last academic year. The Admissions Team are not yet certain of the reason for this increase: possibly Brexit related, seeing Ireland's strong preference for the EU.
Concurrently, there has been a decrease in the number of German students enrolling at the university. German educational institutions have implemented broader curricula and therefore more students are opting to studying in their home country.
